Don't just let them fail, go after them

From Mark Anderson's Strategic News Service

Last week, a letter was circulated for signatures, addressed to FCC Chair Michael Powell, urging him to let incumbent telecoms companies fail, to clear the way for exciting new entrants. (Mr. Powell has acquired the reputation of favoring entrenched monopolists.) I didn't sign it, because I thought the logic was running a bit backwards: the incumbent monopolists do fine on their own, destroying any new comers with a flip of the wrist. Powell needs to go after them, and not just "let them fail."
