The Airplane House was the venue

Woods Hole's weather was cool and blue

The big hook was hung by the chimney with care

Even the shingles were better for wear

The Master touched the piano's tune

The harmonica was adjusted too

Bradner arrived and tried to relax

While the rest of the gang tried a few hacks

Isenberg hoped for this kind of flow

But it's often easier to know where to go

Here's a display of BigHook's group software

Creator and user looked for the "there" there

The group

grouped

groped

grocked

grasped

and grepped.

Discrimination

illumination

explanation

concentration

but at least nobody wept.

(Somebody slept)

Where does value come from?

Are the ILECs inept or dumb?

Fiber?

Wireless?

Competition?

Regulation?

Massively parallel software?

ICANN security?

Online democracy

not corporate stupidity

Railroad bubbles

Incumbent troubles

And the world went by

oblivious to our struggles

Paradoxical networks

and exponential good works

Interdisciplinary exchanges

and personal changes

From half a world away

from technology and play

From bigcos with too much cash to die

And from a fishermen who knows how to lie

Was Roxane explaining the next big thing?

Or was she was just waiving her new ring?

Steve Stroh wants bandwidth to go

Bob used to think so, but now he don't know

Howard was amazing

and full of grace

Cory, Ted and David W conferred

While Charlie and Bill met face to face

The Croquet demo kinda bombed

But Reed's Law carries on

Greg told how to date a base

Dave H could waive a call

Bill St. Arnaud can nary

While the rest gave it our all.

Tim and Timber sought advice

on how to cull the herd

But Pepper never

showed these pix or said even one word

About how some WISPs were using

structures quite absurd.

David and Pete's stylish feet

rhyme with, "Hey, Chef Roland, what's to eat?"

BigHookers got together

And tried to make each other smile

Some came from Sweden

And some from West Nile

We stared out at the lighthouse

we feasted

networked

and had some fun

We traded information

We ate

We sparred

We explored

every communications issue

until we were quite done.

Everything came together

or so close the gap was hard to see

then we relaxed

and leaned back

and watched

Isenberg deregulate the FCC.

But networks are

a lot of work

Which we worked hard to do

Some of the facts

were shrouded in black

but some of them we knew

Ted counseled

Jim shot

Dewayne worked on his Dewayne-Net letter

Sarah explained

and Greg understood

that it's serious work to make the net better

Howard played a last stirring call

David I thanked one and all
