Update on Comcast-Vonage

Paddy Link, of Wexler and Walker Public Policy Associates, tells me that she represents Comcast, and that the problem I describe here and here has been resolved. According to her, it is a Vonage issue, and Vonage admits it and is working on a fix. Hmmmm. OK. Wonder if the Vonage Forum agrees. (I am too busy right now to hit Vonage Forum with the diligence required. I did want to put this out ASAP, because if she's right, the record must be corrected.)

If you were to use the thread that started it all: Comcast vs. Vonage as any indication, my guess would be that the issue is still very much alive.
As of this posting, that thread on the Vonage Forum has received almost 22,000 page views and 243 replies. Tempers are still running high regardless of who is at fault with many forum members in doubt that Vonage would make the public statement "To my knowledge, these rumors are hearsay" when in fact Vonage has posted dozens of service announcements on their website over the past 6 week blaming Comcast for the service issues and going so far as to post the Comcast customer service 800 number.

PC Mag confirms, reporting "To my knowledge, these rumors are hearsay," said a spokesperson for Vonage."

Frankly, as a Vonage user who once was one of their best advertisements, they have many problems lately. That's unfortunate; they are giving all VOIP providers a bad reputation.
