It reminds me of my HS years in the late 60s and early 70s when we weren't allowed to think or talk about "the war" in school. Many of us had friends or relatives who were dying and we wanted to know more and make our opinions known.
There are times when I think a draft and/or required national service would focus the country a bit more.
