Anti-Neuts agree Comcast out of line
Timothy B. Lee, who wrote this anti-Network Neutrality piece for the New York Times, doesn't particularly like what Comcast is doing or how they're explaining it. He observes,
I can’t see any reason for routers to be mucking around at the TCP layer, when throttling can perfectly well be accomplished in a protocol-neutral manner at the IP layer.Lee concludes
. . . it seems to me that while Comcast’s behavior is far from laudable, it’s far from obvious it’s a serious enough problem to justify giving the FCC the opportunity to second-guess every ISP’s routing policies.Worth reading! Also check out this piece by Jerry Brito, not exactly a member of savetheinternet, and the ensuing discussion.

To segue a bit and talk about Verizon and their misleading deals I thought this tidbit today was quite interesting
Verizon Wireless, the second-largest mobile phone provider in the United States, has agreed to return $1 million U.S. to customers for advertising "unlimited" data plans that weren't really unlimited.
New York's attorney general, Andrew Cuomo, said on Wednesday that the company has agreed to refund customers whose accounts were wrongfully terminated after they surpassed download limits on their mobile devices. The limits were never disclosed.
