The Constitution Dies Tomorrow

Link

Obama's run to the center, OK, you gotta do whatcha gotta do. I'm not happy, but OK. I'm votin for ya. I don't understand politix, but hey, I'm votin for ya.

HOWEVER . . . when only 15 (+/-) senators support what's written in black and white in the superseding Law of our Land . . . ?

Perhaps the biggest surprise has been Timothy B. Lee's excellent Ars Technica analysis.

Glenn Greenwald has also done hero's work over at Salon.

I'm hoping against hope that there's another rabbit in that hat . . .

The Constitution died a long time ago. Some argue that it happened when the Federal government refused to allow some states to leave the union. Some argue that it happened during FDR's regime. Some during Johnson's War on Poverty. But given the fast and loose interpretation of the commerce clause, nobody argues that the Constitution reflects its authors intent.

Well, thanks to "capitalism" (which has the same connotation in my mind as "evolution"), there will be a million and one businesses setup to "secure your life" [from the government]

Is it against the law for people to hire a company that secures all their communication and transactions (basically reengineer a person's life to be more secure [from the government]?

Unless they make "surveillance evasion" punishable under the law, capitalism will rule the day [and enable us to keep our communication and transnactions secure. For a fee of course.]

I don't know if I'm being sarcastic or simply predicting what I believe will happen.

Counter-surveillance could become a $100B industry in a few decades.

The idea of "Ambient Transparency" may sound too extreme (http://evolvingtrends.wordpress.com/2008/07/10/complete-transparency-or-your-money-back/) but I bet that some smart people will be promoting it as a legitimate response...

I think its time to come to terms with the fact that Obama is a compulsive liar.

Let's not hear any more of the apologies for his blatant betrayal of his supporters.

America has to come to terms with the deep corruption in this country and start to understand that parties have 'cornered the market' on our political system.

Paul and Kucinich were the only decent candidates our system had to offer.
