Torture is still wrong
Comments:
... so what's the most effective way to deal with those who torture and murder others, and continue to assert their right to torture and murder others?
That's the real question to answer here.

I'm sympathetic to John's comment above, but I contend that murder is merciful compared to torture. Torture is far, far more heinous a crime in my view. And I think torture followed by murder is less cruel than torture followed by survival.
I'd believe the sincerity of those holding up a banner stating that "Torture is wrong" if they also showed a banner "Poverty is wrong" or perhaps "Corruption is wrong", etc.
I can't quite figure out whether to take "Anonymous'" comment seriously. Poverty isn't always wrong, e.g. when it is voluntary poverty. Same for corruption, and even perhaps murder. But torture is always wrong, always, always, always, even in the ticking time bomb scenario.
Anonymous doubts my sincerity. I doubt the depth of her thinking.
