Quote of Note: Ben Scott

"If Comcast decided to get in front of the 435 members of the House, they could do that in a week. I don't think I could do it in a year."

Ben Scott, Policy Director, Free Press. via @jenhoward80, DSL Reports and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Why on earth haven't public interest groups learned anything from the Obama campaign? If the game is rigged against you, play a different game.

Pro-business lobbyists might be able to meet with 435 representatives in a week, and Ben can't do that. Why wouldn't Ben get creative and crowdsource the message and the contacts. A few thousand or tens of thousands could blog, call, and demand the attention of law makers.

Can one be a villager of DC and still engage the public in public interest topics?

It's like going to Las Vegas where The House makes the rules. The House always wins. Step 1. stop playing The House's game.

Debi,

Exactly.
